In some suprising, yet welcome news, major news outlets such as the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal are reporting on the move inside the Obama administration to endorse the use of annuities leading up to and at retirement to provide a more secure income base for the vast majority of American's who retire with out a pension. On this weeks Speaking of Settlements I discuss the recent summit by Putnam Investments that endorsed the same idea and showing research that indicated that the vast majority of American's would be better off at retirement with the safety and security of an annuity instead of attempting to manage their funds or turning it over to an investment manger.
