Description: In this weeks edition of Speaking of Settlements, Attorney Robert Wood once again joins host Mark Wahlstrom to further their discussion from the prior week on taxable damage cases and their current status and treatment by the IRS. The week the focus is turned to Wrongful Imprisonment cases in which someone is released from prison, receives either an award or settlement and then is faced with the unfortunate reality that this award is likely taxable. Rob goes into some mitigating factors as to ways the case could be tax free under section 104, with a list of the evidence, notes and documentation needed to bolster this argument. If you want to increase you knowledge of taxable damage cases, be sure to listen to this particular series.
